Bepppu City Traditional Bamboo Crafts Center
Beppu bamboo craft is the only traditional craft in Oita Prefecture designated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
This facility explains the history and techniques of this craft and exhibits a large number of works with intricate and elegant individuality.
The facility also offers hands-on workshops where visitors can make bamboo bells (500 yen) and flower baskets (2,000 yen). (advance reservation required)
In March 2018, a "SHOP & CAFE" was added, where visitors can purchase bamboo products and enjoy coffee.
