This work, presented at the Kunisaki Art Festival, depicts a forest as a sacred church. The work was inspired by Father Peter Kasui Kibe from Kibe, Kunisaki Peninsula, who traveled to Rome in the Edo period and became the first Japanese to visit the holy city of Jerusalem.
