Bungomori Roundhouse is The roundhouse kept 25 locomotives after the World War II and supported the glory days of the regional railways.
It is the only railway heritage in Kyushu. In 2009, it was designated as the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's modernized industrial heritage; in 2012, it was designated as a registered tangible cultural asset in Japan. During the war, as it was the base of military transportation, it came under the fire of US machine guns, and traces of bullets still remain until now.
You can also visit Bungomori Roundhouse Museum which was designed by a famous industorial designer, Eiji Mitooka.
